Peter Colt is a tennis player. He’s at the final of his career and he’s not lucky at all. There are so many years he’s losing all the matches he plays. However, lucky offers him the chance to play in Wimbledon Championship.

When he arrives to the hotel he’s going to stay, the service gives him an occupied room. He doesn’t know it and he gets on the room, Peter runs into a girl having a shower. They don’t say anything, but Peter knows who she is: Lizzie Bradbury, a young tennis player. She also knows Peter, but she prefers to don’t say anything.

Little by little they become really friends. They both fall in love with the other and they start a relationship. Lizzie’s father doesn’t agree with that, because he thinks she must get her head in the game. Lizzie is a support to Peter; unconsciously she helps him winning Wimbledon matches and he’s going up to the finals. On the other hand, Lizzie isn’t as lucky as Peter. She’s losing lots of matches and he’s father’s getting angry.

Peter and Lizzie split up for a while. They both can’t stand it, but Lizzie wants to win Wimbledon as well and she wants to train for get fit and win it. At the same time Peter’s getting worse, he hurts his back and he wants to go out with Lizzie again. It isn’t possible and the final Championship day arrives. He must play against James Hammond, a tacky guy who thinks he’s the best.

The match starts. Peter’s losing and his back is killing him. He knows is the end of his career, even if he wins. He prays God to finish the match and it starts to rain. In the changing room there’s Lizzie waiting for him. They make up and suddenly it stops raining. Lizzie gives Peter some advices about how to win James, who isn’t as good as Peter thinks. Peter’s very happy and he feels qualified for become Wimbledon champion. He finally wins the match and celebrates it with his family and Lizzie.

Lizzie and Peter are really happy together. They have 2 girls, Peter has ended his tennis career and Lizzie’s still playing tennis.



I’ve really enjoyed the film. That film is a romantic comedy and it’s not extremely about tennis, fact that I was afraid of.
